I don`t know for sure, but I believe some of these GLA tenders/contracts run for a period of a few years = thats probably why Kimbolton seem to be heading up these big events more & more in recent times, that said, and what with Boris being a Tory mayor and the Ron`s son being an Tory MP should we not be surprised?
Im more than happy that British companies like Kimbolton are getting these contracts,...... having spoken with the Boris`s event team at the GLA a few years ago to convince him to use UK based firms for displays etc, they said in essence they will favour firework display contracts to UK companies providing they offer somthing "artistically" different as opposed to being just a british company for the sake of it (EU competition rules).
Once the tenders are up for renewl, in my opinion there is no reason why a few smaller firework display operators on this forum can not work together to do these big shows.
Overall I thought it was a good display, well done Kimbolton!

I would strongly urge posters to consider very carefully that comments posted on a public forum could result in civil or criminal liability.

From what I saw on the telly, it looked a great display - will get a first hand report when my son returns from seeing it live in London...
Everyone must remember that this is a public forum, think what you like, but be sure before you say it - it's your society that could get sued out of existance!!!

I echo Richard's comments & would add that as a British manufacturer we should be giving Kimbolton all the support we can.

its bad enough anyone that even slightly comments on the board about making pyro then they are flamed (even if they dont come from this country) now nobody can have an opinion unless it fits with the ukps views.
so i bid the ukps fair well and all the best.

But if we cant comment an opinion and are forced to be censored with the ukps backing then i no longer want anything to do with the UKPS.
I think someone needs to take a long look at what they wrote and try to understand the seriousness of it and the VERY difficult position those comments have put the UKPS in.
