I like the new look and want to thank Richard for all is hard work keeping the forum going/ up to date.
Just one question really on the old format or what ever it's called lol, when one visited a persons profile the number of visitors would be shown, I think I had 12137! And was chuffed with that I can tell you, any chance of reinstating that feature? It's a handy way of measuring how much traffic one is receiving

I'm not convinced that it's better - the layout seems to have expanded vertically so you have to do more scrolling to see stuff.
Trying to do something very beautiful but very dangerous very safely....

Love it, or hate it, it's here to stay chaps, I'm sure you'll get used to it. At some point we'll try to customise the theme a little bit. The website is the next bit due for an upgrade...

P.S. Trev - if it's any consolation, you can now upload unlimited attachments to posts and personal messages, plus no storage limits on number of messages.

Afraid the website will be a very basic affair. It will be a channel to publish official documents and guidance, including the deliverables from the ongoing HSE-led ELR process that we have been contributing towards.

These documents will be of obvious use to the membership, and also other parties like Police ELOs, local authorities etc. We will also seek to keep everyone informed of society news, events and similar - maybe a calendar etc.

Pretty please, :) FFS  , convention or not! - open links in a new window.
Actually Richard I sense that you are as against this as I am for it, it's your forum so you win, but any reason why? :)
I'm certain it loses the site traffic, people get directed elsewhere and don't come back.

One other thing, is there the option to have a 'todays posts' button?
Some of the other forums I watch have it and it saves effort and I'm lazy.

Martyn, look at the LH sidebar when you click on new content, you can filter results there...

What's with the 'like' buttons everywhere?

I think it's a way to 'favourite' posts and content for later viewing. Happy exploring...

It looks a bit clinical and unfriendly to me, but beggars can't be choosers. I'd rather have the forum available in a layout that I'm not keen on, than not at all. Anyway, in two to three years, you're bound to change web host again and it might all change more to my liking :0)

Ah thanks for that. I don't usually bother to log in unless I'm going to post something and it's not there if you're not logged in, that's probably why I missed it.

As Richard knows, I second this one! Web convention or not, the vast majority of websites try to keep the user on the site...

Not particularly impressed with the format ATM, but I'm sure we will all get used to it. It's a consequence of the software upgrade treadmill, for the life of me I can't see why we always have to fix things that arn't broken!

If the new web host is more relaible, that will certainly be a good thing.
