This came up in the board meeting tonight, and we we're wanting to get a picture of how many people are likely to be going to Valencia next year for Las Fallas, so that we could perhaps plan to meet up or stay in the same hotel.

So... Who is planning on going? Where are the best places to stay?

As a starter, I will very likely be going for the final 4-5 days, and looking to stop in the Holiday Inn, very close to the park / dried up river bed where a good majority of the madness takes place.

Well, Chris & I would be up for it. Paul suggests the Holiday Inn...

This might be something I could bring my girlfriend to. What are the best dates to go if you were looking at a weekend break?

I'm up for it as long as finances allow, it would be good to all meet up in the social context as well.

Well the best dates to be there are the 15th to the 19th of March (returning 20th), the 15th is a Friday, so if you could only make it for the weekend then you could stay up until the 17th, though you'd miss the burning on the 19th and the biggest display.

You'll probably need a couple of days to recover afterwards too.

I would also suggest flying on the 14th, as we missed the 15th's Mascleta and we were told was the best, over the 5 days we were there!

It was INCREDIBLE!!!!

We will be in Valencia by about 10.30am so with no luggage to collect all going well with the flight, no worries of missing the first Mid Day :)

I booked up yesterday - my 5th time in Valencia for Las Fallas :)

I am at the Holiday Inn again this year and taking my daughter for the first time (which will be useful as she got an "A" grade in Spanish).

I have noticed that Ryanair really play about with their flight prices (Stansted to Valencia). The day before yesterday there was no flights on the 14th available and the cheapest on the 15th was about £100 each one way. We needed to come back on the 18th - also unavailable and the 19th was £130!

Then yesterday the 14th and 18th were available - total return cost for 3 of us - £299.

Also (from experience last year) if you have the need or the nerve to leave it until last minute, you can get some really good flight / hotel prices.
