Hi all pyrotechs,

I am from New Delhi, India. Fireworks is something i love apart from few other hobbies like numismatics and aeromodelling.

I do have a collection of firecrackers and quite a lot of fireworks from India. Will post the pics one by one.

I wish we could buy them over here in the UK. It would take me a month to make that many.
Our saviours : In the ninth century, a team of Chinese alchemists trying to synthesize an "elixir of immortality" from saltpeter, sulfur, realgar, and dried honey instead invented gunpowder.

Hi riprap, Deano, and sparky

This would cost me Rs 4500 or more during peak season. This Garland was from Micky fireworks, Sivakasi. (Sivaksi disctrict in state Tamilnadu is the pyro hub of India).

This is how the original package looked ..

That's about £50 which seems like a very good price to me but I'm no expert. I'd certainly pay that if we could get them over here. There are times when I really hate living in the UK.

I remember when the public could by Chinese crackers in the UK. They were a great selling item. Part of the reason they were banned is that at least one shopkeeper was cutting individual crackers off of the string and selling them to kids for 10p each. When lit, they would go off instantly. A roll of 500 was about £7.00 then, so it was a dangerous get rich quick scheme by an irresponsible shopkeeper.

The utterly ridiculous ban on bangers is made even more ludicrous by the fact that you can buy thunderflashes in the UK for airsoft and paint ball games. They are designed to be lit while holding and thrown and unless they too have been changed they contain flash comps. It all makes a mockery of the legislation for consumer fireworks.

Every country has a different set of laws..So, i cant comment on that.. But, yes these garlands should have been available atleast to pyro lovers in your country.. I mean pyrotechnicians registered and trained in your country must get all the access.

What i am always impressed with is the quality control in UK, US fireworks market. Here the quality varies from company to company and during peak season.
