At the AGM I suggested running a Fusing Workshop, so we could all learn and share different fusing techniques.
i.e. How to join different fuses together in a reliable manner to achieve efficient flame transfer, so all fuses ignite and the required end effect is achieved, be it a simple instantaneous quick match train, transitions between different fuses or more complex assemblies requiring various delay fusing techniques.
We've set the date as Saturday 10th August 2013 and the venue will be my place in Newbury, Berkshire.
The idea for the event is for everyone attending to bring fusing materials with them and for everyone to share the different fusing techniques they use, so everyone benefits by increasing their knowledge of fusing - It will not just be me teaching you what I do, I want everyone to feed in techniques.
There will be lots of practical fusing and testing going on all through the day - plenty of room outside for this.
If the weather is good, we can do everything outside, but if it is damp then we can use my large workshop to do the fusing, before taking it outside to test.
The plan is to have a BBQ on the Saturday evening with the possibility of a few fireworks to finish off the evening.
There are several hotels in the area for those who want to stay over, the closest is Donnington Spa Hotel, but that's quite expensive:

A cheaper option is the Newbury North Hilton:

Or the basic Travelodge:

For those on a really tight budget, there are a couple of sofas and plenty of floor space if you want to bring a sleeping bag.
If anyone is staying over the Friday night, we could meet up for a drink or two at the local pub - The Castle at Donnington.
If you would like to attend the fusing workshop on 10th August, please PM me and I'll send out address and contact details to everyone nearer the time.
