I believe that this is lycopodium powder, (i hope that i have spelt that right) which you can obtain from inoxia.

It does still need an ignition source though of course

Thanks guys apologise for the late "thank you" I was looking at the wrong bit of the page and did not realise some one had replied.
Anyone have any more on this? please. or is it ignited with magician type hard wear?

I'm not sure what magicians would use to ignite it but I'd try with a small lighter, I'm sure you could rig something up based on an electronic spark lighter design.

Not sure how well it would work with a spark. For hand-based effects I think it's more common to use a 'hand flasher' type device with flash cotton/paper, like these:

To the best of my knowledge, Lycopodium powder can be dusted into the soft flame of a "Bunsen Burner" or the like and it burns with a yellow/white flame and burns away completely and almost instantly.
For the hand held items special flint or glow plug devices are used to propel a burning piece of flash paper with some flash cotton. This tends to be more a travelling ball of flame.
Keep mannequins and watermelons away from fireworks..they always get hurt..
