Probably a good idea - I did the few that I have. It means that there's less chance of stuff getting caught in the grain of the wood, and also means you can wash them without having to wait ages for them to dry. Might also be worth trying to make sure that the little gap between the 2 wooden frames gets sealed up too - stuff can lurk there.
