Does anyone have any suggestions for fun days out, they don't have to be pyro related just so long as they are fun.

 

Clay pigeon/rifle shooting, music festival, theme park, museum, rock climbing, squat rave, beach burning (cleaning), horse riding, model aircraft/cars/boats/rockets ......

 

Wat do you's want to do ????

Might be a bit of a trek for our 'up north' members but it certainly looks interesting.

 Think we have to 'think regional' and organise local events. We can't make the sort of treks we do for the AGM on a regular basis...

Yes sounds good, maybe a family friendly weekend trip with camping, multiple visits and maybe even culminating in visiting Sydney's quarry

If there are enough people with interest Im happy to begin planning an event right now "uuuup North", Happy to take suggestions for anything from a plain meet up with beer, curry and chat to a full weekender with booked events?

 

I can think of a few things to do apart from drink, eat and chat:

 

Go carting (I don't like loosing and can get us very good deals on it so no skinny peeps with good driving skills please!)

Clay shooting (same as above or Ill sulk)

4x4 off roading (guess what /|\  !)

Experimentation day ( assuming rules are adhered to and checked via Wayne I have space and storage to do so legally)

Major pissup

Charcoal burn (Ill show you my special technique ;-)

Royal Armouries (also part of the pissup as Leeds has plenty of curry and beer too)

2 day meet with camping (again I have room or if its only a few of us "mi casa es su casa")

I have pyro obviously so a fusing day or a cat 4 pyro shoot is fine too, if you want to coincide this with a display I've got booked already then pyro is free too!

 

 

Anything else we fancy?

 

I know Im up north but we don't bite and I'm sure a good few will vouch for my hospitality to make the trip worthwhile :-)

 

EDIT: AS I'm firing in the Championships at Broughton Hall on the 20th of September, if we as a society want to arrange a stand I can arrange so with MLE and make a weekend of it, though be warned I will obviously be preoccupied during the weekend with my competition entry. I can however make plans and arrangements to have everything we need to run the stand on the day? (not my first choice as the only thing we arrange but hopefully a second thing alongside too)

Nice to know it's open to us shandy drinking southerners aswell, might just have to go on a bit (lot) of a diet and brush up on karting skills

Talking of setting fire to stuff !!

 

When i was at school we used to have beech cleaning days. Basically we would go to a beech collect any rubbish we found and burn it on a big bonfire.

 

We were also (back before the killjoys sucked the fun out of life) aloud to collect up any aerosol cans and throw them on the fire when we were nearly finished, watch them explode from a distance, go back to school.

 

The tide would come in and help break down wat was left.

 

Don't see any reason we couldn't do something similar, have a BBQ, take some pyro and camp (above the tide line obviously)

Help to clean up the environment and then have a big fire,bbq and pyro 

I would imagine as long as we get the relevant permissions from coast guard etc it would be a good crack.
