I got this from " The Works " yesterday for £4.99. It's one of the best books I've bought in years.
It explains how,who and when the table came to be and everything you need to know about each element.
It has 240 pages. Bargain.

Somewhat related, but there is a book by the Japanese artist Bunpei Yorifuji on the elements. It's a little weird and quirky, but it's an interesting item. He has personified all the elements.

I've always found the element song with 'layman' illustrations rather funny. Silicon has boob implants as the illustration
