let's get a few things in to perspective? it's all here from 2013, from my point a view it all looks rather easy? you don’t need a Dummy guide just get your licence it's rather simple, but don’t assume you can now make fireworks at will oh no your now just licenced that’s it      http://eur-lex.europ...13R0098&from=EN read that this document it should answer a few things and take in to consideration that this document was published in January 2013

Please ignore the post here from "Kenneth", this doesn't help but confuse matters.  The UK is governed by the control of explosive precursor regulations, a UK derivative of the EU regulations.

"Kenneth", please desist from posting misinformation and non-constructive comments.

I think most or maybe all of us do have it in perspective - as there has now been quite a few posts on the subject.

Dannytsg posted all the relevant info a while back, and I think other posts have clarified things further. If anyone isn`t sure about anything else they only have to ask on here.

Waynes "Guidance document " is just that - for guidance. I for one am keen to read it as I have a few questions for Wayne but this publication hopefully may pre-empt that.

I understand the situation, I've been there and one of the major reasons I've spent the past 6 years clarifying the regulations.

At least now you can legitimately pursue the hobby, previously it was a very cloudy situation.

Don't give up hope completely, once I publish the guidance maybe you can review it with your wife to help allay her concerns?

She is in much better form this evening and said we'll have a look at the guidance document....the usual " will it affect our house insurance " etc etc.....i dont want to give up as I was looking forward to having a go at some star mines ..reading " turbo pyro" at the moment with interest.......she has given her consent so I'll apply soon ..... I'll post as soon as i get news ..I think reading what Rip Rap said has eased her mind..cheers Wayne ..

Very good, I hope the guidance will help further still.

I would doubt very much if any house insurance will cover loss caused by any pyro activity, but this is why all manufacturing activities must be carried out away from the home.  If you burn your shed down at the bottom of your garden, no great loss!

The significant issue (Kenneth's post vs Wayne's post) is that the EC makes directives which member States must enact into their law. The EU Pyro Directive was there for some while before the current British firework regulations were enacted. Remember that you cannot offend against an EU directive, but you can offend against the Statute Law of a member state enacting that directive. British law applies in Britain, French law in France etc.

Okay so I am going to submit my application and just wanted to clarify before starting that i have everything in order.

I am going to submit scanned copies of the following:

UK Photo-card Driving License

Bank statement

Telephone bill

All will be countersigned as per the guidance document.

Do I also need to get a copy of ID from the person acting as the counter-signer?

No problem. Does my countersignatory only have to countersign my likeness such as my drivers license copies or do they have to do all documents pertinent to me including the bank statement/utility bill

Just had an email: My epp has been granted - NICE! Apparently I will get the licence within 10 days.

Next up: the A&K - will probably leave it now until the new year, I am out of the country for most of November and I don't want the hassle over xmas and ny.  Plus I really need to think about what is practical on my premises.

But: the process works!

Good result there Gareth, 5 weeks - it would be nice if the A&K`s were that quick!

Well what a form!
I've just applied for the EPP Licence; it timed out first time after entering all the info and lost the lot!
I had to look up the chemicals on my MSDS database to remind myself what I have.
Unfortunately some chemicals I have don't give concentrations so I had to guess.
I just hope it's successful!
How have other people gotten on?
