The issue for couriers is that they want to deliver in the day time monday to friday but most folk who do this hobby will be at work then so usually the couriers have to make multiple attempts at delivery all of which cost money and time. 

 

One pyro competent courier company charges an extra £20 for delivery or pick up from private addresses, as an acceptance that private pickups simply don't happen easily during the day time. Now a £20 surcharge for picking up at a home address and another for delivery to a home address puts £40 +VAT onto the price of a few chems.

 

The current precursor licence really demands face to face transactions, and only the UKPS AGM seems to be available as a trading place that several people attend- even then not everyone can attend.

Just a quick update on this, I've been chatting with the HO about this again.  They are as keen as us to find a working solution to mail order chemical supplies, so we are currently looking into a few proposals.

 

As soon as there is anything worth announcing, I'll be back...
