An update on my blue formulae. The current working formula is:

  • Potassium Nitrate - 36%
  • Copper Oxide - 36%
  • Parlon - 14%
  • Flake Aluminium (250#) - 8%
  • Sulphur - 6%

I'm having trouble getting it to burn hot enough to decompose the Copper Oxide. I can tell it isn't burning because there is a huge star-shaped blob of slag left after it burns and the star burns a bright yellow colour. I'm assuming the yellow is due to incomplete combustion of Carbon (in the Parlon) thanks to there not being enough Oxygen around (because the Copper Oxide isn't decomposing).

Anyone have any suggestions how to fix this?
