Granted, it was not the best of introductory posts, and one or two did a great job at an attempted steer in the right direction that said some of the responses are outright rude, some of which I am shocked have come from UKPS Staff. No wonder the society struggles with new membership.
We were all ignorant novices once......
FITH - As others have said, grasp the basics, flash has its place but gets pretty boring - there is so much more to pyrotechnics, my first effective D1 glitter comp filled me with far more joy than my first dangerously mixed 99g banger.....

That's very true.
Making bangs is easy but gets boring after a while & can also attract the wrong attention.
