Just wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone that attended yesterdays AGM. It was a somewhat low key casual affair compared to some previous more structured ones, i think this made a nice change as it meant there was plenty of time for people to catch up and chat. Special thanks to: Paul Dack for for organizing the venue etc, Steve Miller for stepping in at short notice with a very interesting (although slightly concerning) talk on PPE testing, A big Thank you to Rev Ron Lancaster MBE for his interesting, varied talk and for spilling the beans on how to make Jumping Jacks :o Roger Renshaw for his talk and Q&A on competency training and Phil Cooper for his talk on chemical shipping. And of course Optimun and Illusion fireworks for the fantastic display.

THANK YOU ALL !!!!

Well done to the committee for pulling it all together and the display team for the show.

Nice relaxed AGM, that’s not to say we did not deal with the nitty-gritty on A&K competence and EPP.

Ron Lancaster’s talk was riveting to listen to, what a wonderful man and very generous.

Well done to Arthur Brown with his talk on competence training and with the input of others we made significant headway on this difficult subject.

Thanks to Steve Miller for standing in at the last minute with his talk and contributions to other topics.

Phil for talk on EPP and as always his valued opinion and questions throughout the day.

My thanks go to all those not mentioned that made the day possible.

Agreed, a big thank you to All the ukps staff, great work you guys are doing
Sadly it only darned on me about two miles from home that maybe I should of asked Ron for a few of the old factory rocket propellant formulas! Lol
The best part for myself was meeting up with old friends again :)

I don't think anyone videoed any of the talks at the AGM but Steve Millers talk on PPE might be available elsewhere on the indernet.

I'll second all those statements of thanks. Well done to everyone involved for making the day so enjoyable and informative.

It's a shame that none of the talks were videoed. As a small effort at compensation, here's my take on the fireworks display: https://youtu.be/yuYawMJBQqI. In retrospect, it would have come out better if I had been a bit further away!

Only if someone recorded it!

Also please remember that the talk was all my opinion. It hasn't been ratified, approved or adopted by the officers or the society. However I believe it may lead to other constructive thoughts and discussions.

There is little point in discussing  (at any level) the nature of the training and exams until the concept of competence training has the majority/unanimous support of the officers, committee members and members of the Society. Someone may have a better way forward.

Fair point, maybe he would be kind enough to do a summery and post it

The Q&A part was interesting as it suggested there could be a few avenues which could be explored.

Many thanks everybody for another excellent AGM,

I think the relaxed way in which the event was run was universally agreed to have been more enjoyable as we had more time to chat and catch up.

A special thank you to the Rev Lancaster for a lovely talk and his generosity ,

And Karl, i loved your Ricassa material  :D
