As some of you are already aware I suggested on a thread in the members section that a <100g pyro day could be organized by the society but hosted and overseen by pyro chemical suppliers. Phil Cooper (Cooperman) has agreed to be the first pyro shop owner to host such an event.
My original post in the member’s forum:
Ok.
How about experiment/home pyro competition/practical experience days or better still weekends/weeks. These could be organized by the society but with A LOT of help both financial and by the way of organization (finding venue etc) from chemical/pyro goods suppliers.
Not only will this give people and suppliers a venue to meet and do F2F EPP transactions it will also give people the time, place and incentive to use sed chemicals. There will also be plenty of opportunity for people that need to show experience to gain that experience under the watchful eye of knowledgeable members that can if needed confirm sed experience.
This IMHO is a win win situation. The chemical suppliers save a shit load of money and aggravation on shipping, at the same time create more of a customer base. Attendees get cheaper chemicals. Society members get to hang out with like minded people doing fun pyro stuff. People who need experience can get it.
You're welcome!!!
Details (subject to change) are as follows:
Date: 26/09/2015
