I have been told by certain people tha the powder found in cheap bottle rockets could be used in a very mine as lift powder, is this possible?

Er, you do know that taking apart fireworks is dangerous, dont you?

'Bottle rocket' is a bit of a loose term. Is it blackpowder or whistle powder? If its BP then yes but it is easier and probably safer to make your own.

Sorry , i do know there are dangers but i have explained my safety precautions to loci through msn. I was told that bottle rockets , the non whisteling ones , dont use BP but another composition and as i have a mass of firecrackers , rockets and bottle rockets but no kno3 of my own i was going to use the stars etc in my homemade mines etc.

Richard i used the old coma etc and a subordinate clause :D

In my opinion it is safer to make your own compositions that poke around a firework who's formula and/or construction you are not familiar with. For example, the composition used in whistling rockets can be quite sensitive and if you attack it with a hacksaw you may get more than you bargained for, and maybe a lot less fingers.

and you remove the clay with out friction? hahaha, like to see you try that one!

I dont think a pair of tined safety goggles and soem leather gloves will help you that much if one off them happens to go off...

Hi spawned

Personally, I don't like your signature, would you consider modifying it to a more 'friendly' phrase?

Cheers.

Spanwed, I appreciate that you may be a good cook but please, could you explain the relevance of your last post to the continuity of this particular thread?
