Hi All,

 

With a view to getting things moving for those who are struggling with A&K applications, I thought I would first try and gain an understanding to where the problems lie.  It it just one region or do we have issues in several regions etc.  So with this in mind, I would like to hear from all those still struggling by answering a few simple questions

1. The name of your ELO
2. The region you are applying 
3. Any background information on your application this far (communication with ELO, current status, etc).

Please PM me this information by the end of this week.  Don't post it within this thread.

 

Once we have a better picture of the problem, we can decide on how to deal with the situation.  I don't want to discuss a particular individual with the ELO (the ELO shouldn't be able to anyway from a data protection point of view), I want to discuss the general issues around the current A&K applications.

 

At the end of the week, I will consolidate the information and post the results here and discuss our next steps.

Hi All,

 

I've only had 2 PM's in response to this so I have to assume most who have applied have been successful.

 

The 2 responses which did get are both in the Greater Manchester region so it would appear we have issues there.  Before I take this up with the GM ELO, I would like to turn this discussion on its head.  Please can you reply to this thread if you have successfully applied for a explosive certificate for experimental pyro (either A&K or AO, it doesn't matter as long its for experimental pyro) and also please name your region.  Now we know which region is proving difficult, I would like to know the region which are receptive and successful.  To get the ball rolling, I'll reply myself to this thread.

Wayne. If you wish to contact me outside of the forum once you have a list of ELOs we could maybe have yet another attempt at putting some guidance on the right direction. I will be meeting a few of the ELOs next week when they attend a training session that we are running for them.

I think its evident from this where the problem lie and it had nothing at all to do with competence!

I did PM you Wayne but don't think it's been read as yet. As far as I now there are 3 in GMP in the same situation. Please help this isn't right!
