I was just thinking to myself earlier, these big fireworks must have a place to test new product designs. Does anyone happen to know where any of them are. Would be good if could get close ish to watch them .
Neil.

I would have thought you will have difficulty with that as stuff like that is not broadcast for commercial reasons.
More to the point there are not that many big firework companies left in the uk, well not like they were anyway.
A lot of stuff is imported from china now.
I know that folk do trips to Malta and the Far East and once you get yourself known there may be the opportunity to hook up with them? I would like to one day I must admit.

One or two of the bigger cat4 importers offer rides to China for paying guests, you will see some of the process of Chinese business and wholesale, don't expect to see any demos of anything likely to fail -that wouldn't be good commerce by the Chinese. None of the Chinese people will talk about the technicalities of manufacture -that's their business.
There is little chance of seeing any development in England because any there is will be military -maybe not "secret" but certainly unshown, likewise anything you are party to will not be demonstrated unless it's certain to work.
Keep mannequins and watermelons away from fireworks..they always get hurt..

I have various options that may be of interest to you Neil or for that matter anyone else.
We do run factory visits to Malta so you can see how things are made and get a front line seat on the firing.
Also we do have a apprentices training program that you can join and learn how to make fireworks you will need to submit an application to the Maltase government to get on the program but that is not a big deal as long as the factory takes you on and I suspect they will.
Car rental is subsidised through our site along with accommodation.
I think we have had around 7 visits this year so if you’re interested feel free to ask any questions.

That does sound tempting, definitely something to think about in the future,
Thankyou everyone.

Another option
Build the shells yourself (cylinder shells in Italian and Maltese fashion)and shoot them on our display night as well as having the holiday of a lifetime.
Our 2018 May 22 day Pyro Holiday has 4 confirmed bookings so we have just 2 places left free.
2018 will probably be the last year I run these holidays and from later next year the Thai Gov is banning insanely large rockets and Talai.
If you ever wanted a chance to see these amazing devices up front, close and live next year will be your last chance.
