Dear UKPS Member/Former Member/Forum user,
I’m writing to you as the new chair of the UK Pyrotechnics Society, to ask you for help in keeping the society running, as we believe that the UKPS still has an important role to play in supporting the amateur pyro-chemistry community.
I have stepped up from the post of vice-chair to that of chair, now that Phil Cooper has decided to step down due to the pressure of work and for similar reasons Vic Jones has also stepped down as membership secretary – We thank Phil and Vic for both their support of the UKPS.
The few committee members who are currently battling to keep the society going, cannot cope and we need some more people to step forward to join the committee, share the workload and stabilise the society for the good of the pyro community.
We desperately need a new membership secretary and a few trustworthy individuals to become company directors, so we can maintain the critical mass of people and roles needed to keep the society running properly. Any offer of help, even if it is outside of the two roles mentioned would be gratefully received.
The role of membership secretary was quite time consuming, but plans are being put in place to simplify the role – More about this and the future of the UKPS will be covered in a second communication once we’ve received some feedback from this one, as I wanted to keep this plea for help short and to the point.
The UKPS will have to be closed down if we are unable to recruit the extra assistance required, we simply cannot continue without help.
If you want to keep the UK Pyrotechnics Society going, please get in contact with me – either PM through the forum (Pyromancer) or e-mail me on Steve@LiveActionFX.Com.
Regards
