I expect this question has been asked but a quick search seemed to show no results.

Does the 100g rule apply for the whole device when one device is made from multiple devices?

For example, say you want to make a Catherine wheel with 4 gerbs, can each be 100g as technically they are each their own device or does all 4 gerbs have to add up to 100g (so 25g each)?
