Both Shimizu and Lancaster use Red Gum in their Star's composition. Does anyone know if any substitutions or the industriies that use this products.
Thank you

It is used in the wood industries, too. To coat wood. Here you can buy that stuff for very expensive 7.67? per 100g. The Homepage states that this stuff is used to colourize methylated spirit. So you can treat red wood with it to get back the red colour.
Shellack can sometimes be used as a substitute.

It is also known as accaroides resin. I can get hold of a 25kg tub of it if there is enough interest. It would work out at ?8.00 per kilo.

Some art and restoration specialists stock it too..
I believe 'vinsol resin' is a substitute that is sometimes used.
