Would I be doing a silly/dangerous thing by using it as a core for blackmatch? Well, I did, anyway . Using one strand, the resulting blackmatch is extremely thin (<1mm) and flexible, much moreso than any of my previous attempts with normal cotton. Uncoated, the string burns FAST, just like flash paper, but when coated with BP, it burns about 1second per inch. It ignites SOO easily, does NOT go out, and leaves very little ash. It burns through everything I've tried so far.
Here's a little pointless video of it happily burning under a brick:
4.3Mb of blackmatch - not very interesting.
I would just like to know if anyone has used/heard of nitrated string being used in this way.
So..... I take it no one has heard of the stuff?
