On the metal sharpners, the big chunk of metal that the blade is screwed to.
Has anyone here sucessfuly used the MgAl from these?
I haven't actually used pencil sharpeners, I found a much more plentiful supply.
Motorcycle cylinder heads and engine casings are often magnalium. Ranging from 2-10% Magnesium (I checked this on casting materials company websites).
It burns well and bright white, I guess the magnesium colour intensity drowns out the aluminium.
Go for the parts of the casings which corrode fastest.
I have no easy way to process it (my hands are sore and my file is blunt

).
Anyone know an easier way of producing small granules? (you can have some)
I will try old brake calipers next.
