Wow what a price difference from the current 29 for 25kg which equates to 1.16 per kg, very steep though since I need it so much I am willing to pay it. I would go to garden direct but their prices are even worse at 59 for 25kg plus £4 for P&P :o. I wonder what the black specs are and why its contaminated with the stuff, I heard Krista K potassium nitrate is a great brand of potassium nitrate. As long as it doesn't make compositions more sensitive or effect the speed or quality of BP I will be happy. I just wish I had bought some 3 years ago :(.

The specks don’t seem to effect the quality or stability of the bp, it makes good glitters and streamers too.
It’s worth buying it in bulk, works out a lot cheaper in the long run especially with the constant price rise.

It is quoted as the K2O and N equivalent. If you work that back into KNO3 you will find it works out.

Krista K plus is the real deal
Phew that was close.

It is a shame that one of the number 1 pyro chemicals is getting so darn dear to obtain :(. I would hate to see the price in say 2 years, £80 per 25kg sack maybe.

I doubt it, the price spiked about 18 months ago along with fuel prices as it is relatively energy intensive to produce. It has come down a bit in the last 6 months. However it is taking its time working through he system until everyone has got rid of their high priced stocks.

Places like garden direct are just taking advantage of the pyro boys who have to get it through them.

The next door neighbor is a manager of one of those big hydroponic greenhouse places that grow all of the cucumbers and tomatoes for the supermarkets and he says the price has dropped right off from around £40 for 25Kg at the peak to around £15 for 25Kg (they buy it by the lorry load).
Phew that was close.
