Hey, Im looking at land and im wondering how much i should need to be able to fit in all the sheds etc with proper distances. On an average how much acreage will i need?

I was thinking along the lines of 60+ acres. Is this about right? I will be on the bottom "line" of storage and manufacture. ie chances are im not ever gonna have more than 100Kg of fireworks stored at a time or more than 200Kg of raw chemicals.

This is still a while down the line, I cant take out a loan until im 18 which is geting me pissed off. There is 64 acres for 35 grand and i want it!

As you are from Oz I cant really advise, but you should first contact the department over there responsible for explosives / planning application.

Well from all i can see ive found distances, nothing about land size. what size land is required over there? should atleast be a rough guide.

Matt,
If you have found out about distances, draw up each of your sheds and storage to scale with the correct distances and then just make sure you have enough distance from your sheds / storage to the edge of the property... this should give you the minumum size land you would require. Anything more is a bosus and would allow for future expansion.

You may also find that some distances can be decreased if you have an earth mound between buildings. Somewhere in the UK laws, it says that the distances are from the center of the structure and not from the edge... just a case of reading through the requirements severall times.. and the dam fine print.

PS 100kilos is a lot for one device but not a lot for a show try for 2.5 to 10 x your figures if you have the land!!!!
