What can I say ....

500g of Salt for only £12.35, that's just a mere £24.70 per kilo from the Chemical Closet.

Really brilliant if your driveway ices up !

WHAT a BARGAIN !

I almost couldn't get my credit card out quickly enough.

Plus a whole load of drug manufacturing stuff.

Even if it turned up I'd doubt you'd be waiting too long for your visit from the Police etc !

Xylene is definately the best glue IMHO.

I always dissolve some polystyrene in it first to thicken it up a bit (those chunks used to pack things are ideal) - it's easy to work with and sets rock hard quick quickly.

You might want to avoid the fumes (although they smell great, they're dangerous) and it's very flammable so do it away from any source of fire or possible ignition.

Have Fun !

OMG, only 1 day to go and we're back in Valencia.

If you're going be sure to watch out for our 3000 Euro homemade display in the Park ;-)

If you're not going then keep an eye on my blog for updates from Europe's best firework festival @ Las Fallas.

In Topic: Urea Formaldehyde Resin

Resorcinol resin would be much better (Cascophen), it's what Brocks uused for star binding. Their rocket star mix was mixed with resorcinol resin and poured in a thin layer onto a rubber mat that had a slightly raised grid pattern (as far as I have been told). When dry the mat was flexed and the stars broke into thin regular squares.

This is quite correct, resorcinol resin is an excellent binder. Especially when used in large comets as no water gets into the composition and it therefore dries very hard in a short space of time (as it's a chemical set rather than drying).

You would need to play around with the formulations somewhat to compensate for the binder being added to the mix though ...

No more waiting for a month to dry a 2" comet - you can get them done in 24 hours using the resin.
