I recommend building one out of 10mm polycarbonate, its see-through and its bullet proof.

I found this article from North Korea on aluminium grinding: Aluminium flake from foil. This method will only produce microscopic powders. I need a method of electrolysis to produce coloidial aluminium powder. Once we combine this knowledge with the chemistry sections research into oxidiser electrolysis we will be able to produce more explosions.

Why not drill the hole first, then add the composition to the device?
Ironically I find it very difficult to light these things. I gave up trying to light my one and only rocket ever to light last year after trying loose powder and nichrome wire to no avail.

There are only 2 fertilisers I know of that contain a decent amount of nitre: Westland which is pink and 60% yield KNO3, and better is a Wilko brand growmore or something which is light blue. Obviously these must be refined but it won't attract as much attention as buying pure chemicals.
In Topic: Making Black Powder

I wouldn't worry about it. The odds of getting run over are higher than getting black powder to ignite from small sparks. Igniting black powder using big sparks from a piece of flint and tool steel is very difficult, iron on iron - no chance. Even if it fired up, there would be little shrapnel since black powder isn't a high explosive basically, instead it would just burst at the weakest point.
