Nitric acid

I just havent found any supplier of nitric acid and it would be realy usefull so i can make my own nitro-cellulose as an additive to bp. I doubt there are any shops that sell it in the UK so i decided to make it.
Do any of you know a good way of making relitivly strong nitric acid or does anyone know where to buy it?

plaster of paris?

i understand when you make rockets you use clay to bung in one end bt i was wondering can plaster of paris be used?

I was planning on building a Catherine wheel but i dont know the best way of making one. I previously just made a wheel with four pieces of visco fuse on each side so provide the propellant but i would like to amke a much larger one than that but fuse does not work.
Has anybody made a big Catherine wheel and knows of a good propellant.

Flash powder

What are the laws when it comes to making flash powder? I have heard that the maximum amount of bp you can ake at one time is 100g but i also heard that flash is classed as a high explosive so wasnt quite shure whether i should start to make some :unsure:

Hi everybody. I am totally new to pyro and have been reaserching a lot about it.
What i need now is some advice on how to start. Friends say the first thing i should do is to make some black powder. Is this realy safe??? :unsure:
