Potassium Chlorate to Perchlorate
08 August 2008 - 07:09 AM
Hi, I was wondering if I can substitute potassium chlorate for perchlorate for the H3 composition and for a coloured smoke composition with SrCO3.
Red Smoke
06 April 2008 - 02:48 AM
Hello, I recently bought strontium carbonate. I added to to my smoke mix at 6:4:2 KNO3:Sugar:Strontium Carbonate. I mixed it well and ignited it and there was no coloured smoke. I tried 6:4:4 and that didn't colour the smoke either. Can someone give me a formula or something that can make my smoke red using strontium carbonate? Thanks in advanced.
Charcoal Questions
11 March 2008 - 04:39 AM
I need help making charcoal. I read a few pages of the thread "Making charcoal" but I didn't want to bump it.
1. Is pine good to make into charcoal? (It is the cheapest wood I can find)
2. Do I really need to flip my paint tin/cookie tin over (and put soil on it) after I turn off the heat so that no oxygen gets into it?
3. Would an old cookie tin work? It is made out of (sometype) metal and has some patterns on it.
Thanks in advanced.

Where To Buy Strontium Carbonate?

Hello, I am interested in starting to make stars and I am wondering where abouts I can obtain strontium carbonate. I prefer to buy it at a store instead of from the internet. Thanks in advanced.
