I'm going to post the below formula on behalf of Seymour who made it up on the spot while round mine last summer. It really is the best blue formula around and I have tested the veline one, some of the ones of pyroguide and "pyro science" blue (which is better than others too but not quite as good as...)
Seymour's KP blue
KP – 58
Lactose – 15
Parlon – 9
CuO – 8
Red gum – 4
Sulphur – 3
Mgal – 3

Extra bright torch
Source: rec.pyrotechnics
Comments: According to the original text: "An aluminum torch of heretofore unheard of
brilliance and giving an illumination, in the 2.54cm size, of what is said to be 100000
candlepower". Testing with paint grade aluminum revealed that it burns very bright
indeed at a steady slow burnrate and with little residue. It is easily pressed in tubes.
Preparation: Rub the Vaseline into the barium nitrate. Mix the sulfur and the aluminum
separately. Then mix it with the barium nitrate/vaseline mixture. A starting fire mixture is
required for ignition. The ’starting fire #1’ composition can be used for that purpose.
Barium nitrate....................................38
Mixed Aluminum....................................9
Sulfur............................................2
Vaseline..........................................1
Having tested it, I have to warn you, you may have to look away - its that bright!
Question for the pros - what is its suitability for use in stars if a binder is introduced?

Can anyone name this beautiful finale effect?

I came across some old family video of a firework display in Italy from a few years ago and i was wondering what is the exact effect name that the stars create?
Are those dragons eggs that are being used? I notices that the crackling time is far longer than usual dragons eggs shell, possibly due to variations in size?

Free site with a lot of (fairly random) content about pyro. From what ive seen it ranges from showing equipment, to forumla pdf sheets to videos of pyro to shell building. Great to have a look at late at night or when bored.

Star Roller
17 April 2010 - 04:17 PM
Hello All!
I have been seeking sources to buy equipment in order to construct my own star rolling machine.
I am aware that i need a 60RPM motor and for it to be completely sealed.
@PhilDunford - I am the guy at the AGM who asked you whether you could provide the plans so here i am again!
