Hi everyone , I have made different coloured shells using stars made of BaNo3,SrNO3, Mg-Al(treated with K2Br2O7),Sulfur,PVCpwd, KNO3,Charcoal etc. Now I would like to make shells commercially to cell. But I don't know how long these shells will last & give the same effect of light & colour?.Also how long the lifting powder (Gun powder) will give the same effect of blasting to throw the shell to its maximum height? Can any one give me the idea of expiary of a shell? Thanks to all...

Ball mill media
24 July 2011 - 03:16 AM
Hi everyone, I normally use lead balls as media in my ball mill. But as lead is harmful to human body I'd like to shift to another media. I have lots of ball bearing balls in my couboard but never used it as b'mill media . My question is can the balls of bearing be used as media? Is there any chance of frictional ignition ? tamaldas

Hi everyone in the forum. Ball mills are often said to run with media like brass, lead or stainless steel balls/rollers. Is there any chance of accident if I use solid glass balls or marbles as media?
crackling stars
24 September 2010 - 05:36 PM
Hi everyone. Recently I am trying to make crackling microstars. The compositions I have used is ------- Pb3O4--44,Mg-Al (above 100 mesh)--17, CuO --31, KNO3--4, S--4. The lacquer I am using is nitrocellulose base car painting lacquer. The stars burns with golden sparks but with very low noise which is not heard at all from ground when sparking high in the sky. Can anyone give me some light why the sound is so little? Is the proportion incorrect or any mistake I have done making the stars ? Pl, help me.

But when I tried to make white flying fish visco with Al blasting powder the fuse didn't at all work and is burning like magnesium ribbon. know the composition of white flying fish? If there is any composition please tell me
