Coloured Flames

I'm looking to add some colour to the flames when burning fire rope, the colours I'm looking to produce are Purple, Orange and Green.

Normally I use paraffin but guessing to mix with meths would be a better liquid? Can anyone recommend suitable mixes to achieve the colours?


Firing systems

Just a quick question, are any of the firing system cross comparable between different manufactures? I was thinking more in terms of the patch boards.

Petrol lifters

When firing petrol lighters we normally use a wells smoke puff to get things going.
What alternatives would work?
A customer has just sprung a request on us and we don't have any spares.

Lances

In the process of setting up my first set of lance work and am having real trouble getting hold of sticky match everyone seems to be sold out. So at my disposal I have visco, quick match and black match fuse, so which would be best.
my thoughts are black match fuse laid out on top of some cellotape and then another layer over the top, but would this work ok? I know the visco burns too slowly, but like i say i have quick match as well that i can use
suggestions and ideas please.
