Can any of our HE members give me some info regarding purchase and use of small quantities for SFX use?
I already have COER for BP and use it quite a bit for effects, but I am interested to know what training is available and what I would require in order to use HE products for destruction of models etc.
I use Le maƮtre stuff for bullet hits, but I want to be able to make more realistic effects without all the BP smoke

Calculating shell height
16 January 2013 - 04:48 PM
I've been looking for the formula to calculate the height of a shell by timing it from firing and back to ground.
It looked easy at first but then I got lost with acceleration, deceleration, transition from upwards to falling and then terminal velocity.
That's without looking at shape and mass etc.
Is there an easy formula, and am I over complicating this?

Straw charcoal samples
04 December 2012 - 08:28 AM
I bumped into a guy who is a charcoal geek, he makes retorts etc but eats, breaths and sleeps charcoal.
I mentioned straw charcoal and being a member on here.
I have now received a free sample of just under a kilo - already tried some myself and appears very good - pressed with a bit of water and dextrin ..... Now can't break the stuff up!
Anyway, I told the guy I would send out some samples to other members - 100 (ish) gramme bags to anyone who wants them to try.

Suppliers in/around Yorkshire
12 October 2012 - 05:12 AM
Do we have any members who wholesale/retail fireworks in my area?
There used to go to a great place in Sheffield but don't know if hes still there.
As a founder member of Yorkshire Scaregrounds and Fearmasters, we have a massive following and client base who love this time of year.
I would be very interested to hear from potential suppliers with trade lists etc.
