Hi there.
Here is my second 6" shell and my first attempt
to use changing stars.
6"_Spherical_2
weight without lift: 1025g
liftcharge: 50g BP
bursting charge: BP on corncobs
height of break: about 190m
main stars: about 200 tigertail-titan to red (Mg fuelled)
pistil stars: about 100 green (Mg fuelled)
However, nice colors at life shooting but bad colors in
the video.
Greetings
Heinz

The pistil stars are simply placed in the burst charge.

Dj Killerboss - PM
Sprengman - tigertail stars are really not hard to ignite, so they don?t need
a primer at all... as long as the bursting charge is not too fast.
alany - i?ve used a simple zinc spreader composition for priming:
Zinc Spreader Star #2
Potassium nitrate...20
Zinc dust...57
Charcoal...10
Sulfur...06
SGRS...07
and this is the golden wave composition from Shimizu:
golden wave #2
Potassium nitrate...37
Aluminium...47
Sulfur...09
Boric Acid...01
SGRS...06
but i?ve taken red gum instead of SGRS and pumped them with alc.
paul - you are right. The stars have been dipped only with one end.

Thank you.
Moe - I?ve cooked the tigertail composition, and after that I ballmilled it again.
Just ballmilling and rolling is the next thing I?d like to test, since I use SGRS.
sasman - after assembling the two plastic hemis I?ve pasted them with 10
layers of kraftpaper.

here is a picture from construction:

and here is a picture from the break:

And here is the video:
6" spherical
Technical data
height of break: about 110 meters
total weight: 1 kg
outer stars: 220x tigertail, rolled
pistil stars: 100x green, Mg-based, tigertail primed
other stars: 24x Shimizu golden wave, Zn primed
break charge: BP on corncobs
lifting charge: 50g BP
Greetings
