Hi guys,
A member of the forum alerted me to an anti-fireworks thread, submitted by residents of the area he lives in. I don't think I'll post the address of this forum, at least until I have permission from the respective member, it being a local forum. As I was posting a reply, I remembered that members of the Admin team had mentioned the usefulness of posting links to recent firework discussions, and so I searched google quickly for 'ban fireworks 2007'. Here are a few of the results.
This one is fairly recent, from the Mirror site.

Another discussion active this month.

This one started in 2006, and is so fairly old now, but has had recent posts too. Can be no harm in replying with a few pro comments

This one has also been dead since April unfortunately, it refers to Scotland, but any sort of ban that happens in Scotland is going to affect us at some point.

A DVD showing tour of chinese factory
24 November 2006 - 02:17 AM
Hi,
I have been talking to someone who represents a Chinese fireworks factory, and she has been thinking of recording a tour of the factory on DVD, with detailed sections on star rolling, tube making etc.
Would there be interest in buying such a DVD?
Regards,
Dave

I assume this is the right place to post this, not the SFX forum.
Here is the link to the course
It involves loads of aspects of SFX, not just pyrotechnics - but a course that does is not in existance, to the best of my knowledge.
Im going to the Open Day on wednesday, so I will update with photos and comments from the people running it.
Hope this is help to someone in a similar position to me. Theres also a course at the University of Hertfordshire.

Student jailed for making explosives

Yeah, he was making stupid stuff, with metal containers and HE...
But look at this quote:
explosive substances?
It was the fact that he was possessing substances that he got jailed for, what if BP or FP or whistle etc also fall into this category (which they probably do)?
Opinions?

Mattison pleaded guilty to three charges of possessing explosive substances, and was jailed for 14 months concurrent on each charge
