no problem on stealing the thread Neo and on the matter of activated charcoal and carbon I tried that once with the activated carbon in fish tank filters that never got used and it doesn't work worth a crap I couldn?t even get it to light with a blow torch on it for about 2 minutes I suppose if you put it in a wood fire it may work but just strait it won't because it comes pure then its activated so that it readily picks up surrounding impurities that?s why they use it in filters so like I said maybe try putting it in a wood fire so it can try and pick up the impurities bp uses otherwise its uselessbut how is it with activated charcoal? should'nt that be faster than norman charcoal? it got atleast more surface area..
sorry for stealing your thread a bit

why don't you just go to a hardware store and buy some wooden dowels there cheap and come in different diameters and come at about 3-4 foot long just use a small hand saw to cut then to the length you want and that?s it

I found a easy source of KNO3 for very cheap is a store like Wal-mart or Kmart in the form of chemical stump remover it usually comes in 1LB jugs but most of the chemical stump removers are very pure KNO3 but you should check the jug first as some of these have other nitrates in them

You guys misread it said substitute the chlorate with nitrate not the nitrate with chlorate and I actually meant preclorate sorry about that I did that post kind of late last night so I was pretty tired
