Good to hear! Pleased pyro is still as strong as ever, although given how the prices have crept up (in life in general) I shudder to think what the consumer stuff costs! It might not be so expensive, though, expect the unexpected. I miss the hobby. One day I'm going to just let off my whole collection, as a "bon voyage." Maybe when I get my PhD!

I'll keep checking in, for sure, but honestly for me I think I've moved on. Fireworks (and the online life in general) were "the thing I did" as a young man, fittingly perhaps my last big blast up was the month before I turned 40.
Now it's time to think of the real responsibilities of middle age... and how to avoid them!!!

Hi everyone, thanks for replying. I have a bit of a long term plan now, I'm (finally) doing my PhD, at Lancaster. I'll be on with it part time, and with teaching etc it could be many years. I'd love to be involved with Pyro again, I need a hobby/outlet so if anyone else feels like getting the ball rolling again too, we good go from there. As a long term thing this could work. Time passes so quickly, I re-activated my account here three years ago. That doesn't seem three years!!

Me neither- by midnite on NYE I was dead to the world, having got up at 4am for my early shift! At some point I need to have a good look through my own pyro collection, old consumer stuff, rockets etc and just make a decision about it all!

I'm looking at retirement options now , not soon, I'll add, but it's "on the cards" for some date sometime in the future, rather than simply being something that happens to other people!
It's funny, I seem to have skipped a whole period of middle life- I can recall the glory days of Standard circa the 80s, childhood etc seems a long time ago now. But from my mid 20s onwards, wooosh, where did that all go? I'm so pleased to see fireworks still on sale, it would be heartbreaking if they went from the shops.
