Great to know that you are aware of the situation. My worry is only the ricehull and the black powder mix for a lift charge.
I only press and granulated all my lift charge with some grafite mix (small amount).

Paul: Since you have not try your lift charge with that kind of weight. I would recommend that you should make a dummy shell with the same weight and fire them, so you will know the height.
Shell is not a toy! From the way you mention about your lift charge (black powder (milled + riced = extremely fast stuff), I am kind of worry.

Hi Guys,
you need to be able to make a good e-match that fire using 1.5 volts battery,
before deciding to make a firing system. otherwise you will making too big of a system.
For 1 cue system, all you need is just a push button switch, cable and a battery.
If you need info, send me an email.

alany:
Shellac cost me US$ 7 per Kg in 100 mesh form, but shipping is too costly, I think!
In KCLO4 base star composition is slow when you used shellac, I used resinox instead.

Nice looking tube and very well done.
It looks to me from the picture that you use a green fuse which is kind of fast but will not produce one after another kind of effect (time shot) unless you use a slower fuse. To produce a simultaneous kind of firing, you certainly need a blackmatch fuse that you cover it with some kind of tape.
I think the fuse is kind of too long. It might light the other tube. As we all know that green fuse have a tendency of moving, when lighted. Making the fuse short and slow will be safer and controllable.
I had used this green fuse before and to slow down, I rap it with a sticky paper tape about 4 turns and real tight.
I hope my explanation is clear enough to understand.
